NIRI9 INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 3.0

Rules & Regulations

  1. Eligibility Period: All films, short films, and documentaries (any language) with English subtitles made between 1st February 2023 and 31st October 2025 are eligible. A Title Registration Certificate from a reputed state Producers’ Association must be enclosed as proof of production dates.
  2. Submission Format: Films must be submitted via Google Drive or Vimeo link.
  3. Categories:
    • Feature Film
    • Documentary
    • Short Film
    • Shorter Film
  4. Duration Requirements:
    • Feature Film: 90 minutes and above
    • Documentary: 30 minutes and above
    • Short Film: 11 to 89 minutes
    • Shorter Film: 1 to 10 minutes
  5. Language Requirement: Non-English films must be dubbed or subtitled in English.
  6. Who Can Submit: Any organization, agency, individual producer, or director.
  7. Selection Process: Films will be selected by a jury committee. Decisions are final. Festival reserves the right to reject films that:
    • Offend sentiments of any caste, community, religion, or sect
    • Promote racism or ill-will
  8. Festival Schedule: The schedule of selected films will be published on the official festival website in 2025.
  9. Transportation and Insurance: Costs of transporting DVDs/BLURAYs/DCPs, documents, photos, and publicity materials to the festival office are borne by the applicant.
  10. Publicity Material Usage: All submitted materials may be used for promotion. They will not be returned.
  11. Censorship: Not mandatory for entries submitted.
  12. Promotional Use: Festival may use excerpts from submitted films on TV, internet, or other media during the event.
  13. Entry Form Validity: Forms with incorrect/incomplete/illegible entries will not be accepted.
  14. Prizes and Certificates:
    • Feature Film
      • Best: 70,000/- (Seventy Thousand)
      • 2nd: 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand)
      • 3rd: 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand)
    • Documentary
      • Best: 60,000/- (Sixty Thousand)
      • 2nd: 40,000/- (Forty Thousand)
      • 3rd: 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand)
    • Short Film
      • Best: 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand)
      • 2nd: 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand)
      • 3rd: 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand)
    • Shorter Film
      • Best: 30,000/- (Thirty Thousand)
      • 2nd: 20,000/- (Thirty Thousand)
      • 3rd: 10,000/- (Ten Thousand)
  15. Individual Prizes:
    • Best Director
    • Best Actor (Male)
    • Best Actor (Female)
    • Best Editor
    • Best Child Actor
    • Best Sound Design
    • Best Music Director
    • Best DOP
    • Best Concept
    • Jury Special Mention
    Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the director(s) or producer(s). Shipping costs of trophies will be borne by the recipient.
  16. Certificates for Shortlisted Entries: All shortlisted entries will receive certificates. Certificate courier charges are to be covered by the filmmaker unless collected in person at the festival.
  17. Number of Submissions: Unlimited entries are allowed.
  18. Withdrawal Policy: Selected films cannot be withdrawn until the festival concludes.
  19. Online Preview Link: Send a secure online preview link for jury selection.
  20. Acceptance of Rules: Submitting a film implies agreement with all festival rules.
  21. Final Authority: The Festival Authorities have the final word on all matters not explicitly stated.
  22. Declaration: Films without a signed declaration will not be accepted.
